Malora Hightower
Malora Hightower is the eldest of the daughters of Leyton Hightower, lord of Oldtown and head of House Hightower, and carries a nickname, the Mad Maid, that marks her as someone out of the ordinary even within her own family.
She turns up whenever her father withdraws from ruling the Reach to pursue studies of his own, always at his side.
Chapter 1
The Hightower's seclusion

When the ironborn strike at the Reach, Lord Leyton withdraws rather than lead: he shuts himself in the upper chambers of the Hightower and takes Malora with him.
Father and daughter spend their days poring over prophecy and old volumes of sorcery, searching for some sign of what is coming, while the rest of the house is left to face the invasion without him.
