The Langwards answer to the Baratheons who rule from King's Landing, one among the minor houses propping up that authority across the Crownlands. No account credits them with a seat of their own or any deed worth recalling: what has survived of them is chiefly the sworn loyalty and the pattern of their shield.

A blazon without a chronicle

Books only

Among the lesser houses bound to the throne in King's Landing are the Langwards, tied by oath to the Baratheons who hold it. No castle is named as theirs, nor any deed remembered: their presence in the record amounts to little more than that declared loyalty.

The shield attributed to them, known through sources regarded as only partly reliable, shows a crown formed of silver stars set above a wavy band of purple, all resting on a black field.
