Mychal Baratheon

Mychal Baratheon was a knight of the Kingsguard who served King Aenys I Targaryen, the son of Orys Baratheon and Argella Durrandon.

As one of the king's sworn brothers, his story belongs to the earliest years of House Baratheon at Storm's End.

Chapter 1

The son of Storm's End

11 ACShow only

Mychal was born in the year 11 after the Conquest at Storm's End, the third son of Orys Baratheon and Argella Durrandon.

Through his father he belonged to the newly founded House Baratheon; through his mother he descended from the Durrandons, the old lords of that land.

Chapter 2

The knight of the Kingsguard

34–41 ACShow only

In the year 34, at twenty-three, Ser Serwyn Errol, then Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, knighted him. Mychal entered the order that guarded King Aenys I Targaryen.

He died in the year 41 at King's Landing, defending the king from an attempt on his life.

Chapter 3

The name the books don't remember

Books only

There is no Mychal Baratheon in the novels. The character was built on another, similarly named knight, Raymont Baratheon, mentioned in The World of Ice & Fire.

They are two distinct figures who share little beyond a surname.
