Ellyn Baratheon

Ellyn Baratheon was one of the four daughters of Lord Borros Baratheon, ruler of Storm's End, and the youngest of the sisters nicknamed the Four Storms for how much their marriages could weigh in a civil war split between rival claimants to the Iron Throne.

Her name is tied to the moment when both greens and blacks turned up at Storm's End hoping to buy her father's loyalty with a wedding, and later to the years she spent at court in King's Landing once the fighting was over.

Chapter 1

Storm's End, a prize for two princes

129 ACBooks and show

Ellyn was the fourth daughter of Lord Borros Baratheon and Lady Elenda Caron, after Cassandra, Maris and Floris; together the four were known as the Four Storms.

When the Dance of the Dragons broke out, prince Aemond Targaryen travelled to Storm's End on behalf of the greens to lock in Lord Borros's loyalty through a marriage, though which of the four sisters he was offered was never recorded.

Shortly afterward prince Lucerys Velaryon arrived seeking the same support for his mother's cause. He said he could not marry Ellyn or any of her sisters, since he was already betrothed to Rhaena Targaryen, and Lord Borros drove him off his lands.

Chapter 2

The journey to King's Landing

131 AC

After Lord Borros's death and the birth of a baby brother in 131 AC, Lady Elenda sent Ellyn along with her sisters Cassandra and Floris to King's Landing, to pay homage to the new regime and witness the coronation of Aegon III Targaryen. Their grandfather, Lord Royce Caron, served as their guardian on the journey.

They travelled with Ser Willis Fell and princess Jaehaera Targaryen, who had spent the war years sheltering at Storm's End. Once in the capital, the three sisters attended the wedding between the young king and Jaehaera.

Chapter 3

The Maiden's Day Ball

133 AC

In 133 AC queen Jaehaera Targaryen died in King's Landing, and the Hand of the King, Lord Unwin Peake, wasted no time pushing his own daughter forward as Aegon III's next wife. The move met resistance from much of the nobility, who began putting forward their own candidates.

Lady Elenda offered her daughters Cassandra and Ellyn as options, and both attended the Maiden's Day Ball. There Ellyn ventured to ask the king what he thought of her dress, an innocent remark her sister later twisted into a rumour about something quite different.
