Brune Baratheon

The House Baratheon that this document portrays extends far beyond the descendants who appear in the main plot. William Baratheon and his wife Martyna Mullendore head a brood of fourteen children, and Brune is one of them, alongside names such as William, Jon, Martyn, Orys, Theodor, Bryte, Tommax, Mace, Gude, Lex, Wineiri, Miriam and Argella.

Nothing is told of Brune himself: no decision, no battle, no death. His presence is exhausted in the mention of his parents and siblings, without the text adding a single line of his own life.

What little is known about Brune comes not from a chapter devoted to his own house, but from an on-screen document focused on another lineage: the House Umber genealogy shown in the series. It is there, in Lineages and Histories of the Great Houses of the Seven Kingdoms, that his name and his family's are recorded, as a cross-reference between two houses rather than as subjects of the section itself.

The novels of A Song of Ice and Fire never mention this character at all: Brune Baratheon exists only as a prop-like detail, a name meant to add density to a family tree glimpsed on screen for barely a few seconds.
