Among the lineages answering to the lords of King's Landing sits House Manning, a family of the Crownlands with almost no surviving record. It holds no known seat or stronghold: all that documents it is its declared loyalty to House Baratheon of King's Landing and the device its men carry into battle.

The records that catalogue the realm's coats of arms give this house an unusual charge: a red sea lion flanked by two black bars on a white field. The source for that blazon carries less weight than the saga's central chronicles, so the arms are marked as semi-canonical.
What the records affirm more firmly is its place in the hierarchy: the Mannings answer to House Baratheon of King's Landing, within the Crownlands, with no castle or holding recorded as their own.
