House Foote of Nightsong

Casa Foote de Nocturnia

House Foote of Nightsong is a noble house of the Stormlands, sworn to House Baratheon of Storm's End. It is a minor branch of House Foote, seated at the castle of Nightsong.

It owes its place among the nobility to the War of the Five Kings, when it replaced House Caron as the ruling house of the area.

Chapter 1

The duel that founded a house

299 ACBooks only

In 299 AC, during the Battle of the Blackwater, Ser Philip Foote fought Lord Bryce Caron, the last Lord of Nightsong, in single combat and killed him.

King Joffrey Baratheon rewarded the feat with the lands, rights and incomes of House Caron. The grant passed over Mylenda Caron, the last legitimate member of that house, and Ser Rolland Storm, the bastard son of the lord who fell in the duel.

Chapter 2

A claim that never went away

Books only

Ser Rolland Storm did not accept being passed over: he still claims for himself the titles once held by the Carons, though the crown has already given them away.

The house is now led by Ser Philip Foote, Lord of Nightsong and Lord of the Marches, a vassal of House Baratheon of Storm's End and a minor branch of House Foote.
