House Cassel
Casa Cassel
House Cassel is a minor northern house that has served House Stark at Winterfell for generations. Its arms show ten white wolf heads, in rows of four, three, two and one, on grey with a black border.
Men from this house have held trusted posts in Winterfell's garrison, among them Ser Rodrik Cassel and his nephew Jory.
Chapter 1
Generations in service to the Starks
Books only
The father of Martyn Cassel and Ser Rodrik is buried at Winterfell, a sign of how long the family had served the Starks. Martyn had four children, and only one, Jory, lived to adulthood.
His brother Ser Rodrik married three times, but none of those marriages gave him a son: all his children were daughters.
Chapter 2
Away from Winterfell
Books only
Jory Cassel was among the guests at the wedding of Lord Eddard Stark and Lady Catelyn Tully.
Martyn Cassel, for his part, died far from home: he fell at the Tower of Joy, in the Red Mountains of Dorne.
