House Flint of Breakstone Hill
Casa Flint de Colina Piedrarrota
House Flint of Breakstone Hill is a minor northern line, seated in the highlands that give it its name and answering today to House Bolton. Its roots reach back to the First Men, and that age is exactly what sets it apart from the rest of the North's vassal houses: it did not always answer to anyone.
Chapter 1
Kings before the wolves
Books only
Before a single lord ruled the North, the Flints wore their own crown. They held Breakstone Hill as kings, not subjects, a standing that traces back to the First Men they descend from.
That rule ended when the Starks spread their authority over the region and reduced the old local kings to vassals. The Flints joined the web of lesser houses now sworn to Winterfell, and over time their allegiance also came to run through House Bolton.
Chapter 2
The first Flints

Some trace this house back to the Clan Flint, the hill folk who call themselves the First Flints, as if the very name staked a claim to the antiquity the lords of Breakstone Hill take pride in. It is not a confirmed kinship, only a possibility that circulates among those who study the houses of the North.
Beyond that, little else is known of the house. No one can say for certain whether a Flint of Breakstone Hill still lives.
