Rickon Stark son of Benjen
Not to be confused with Rickon Stark · Rickon Stark (son of Cregan).
Rickon Stark led House Stark as Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North during the reign of Jaehaerys I Targaryen. His rule gave way to a new generation of the house, with an heir who would come to the title while still a boy.
Chapter 1
A lord with divided offspring
121 AC
Rickon came to the title ahead of a younger brother, Bennard, also born of the union between Benjen Stark and Lysa Locke. In time he took Gilliane Glover as his wife, and with her started his own branch of the family: that marriage produced two sons, the elder of them named Cregan.
Outside that marriage he also had a daughter, Sara, who as a baseborn child carried the surname Snow rather than Stark.
Chapter 2
An heir too young
121 AC
Upon his death in the year 121, the title passed to Cregan, who was only thirteen. The new lord's young age made it necessary to find someone to hold the reins of Winterfell in his name, and that role fell to his uncle Bennard, who took up the regency until the boy was old enough to rule in his own right.
