Bennard Stark

Bennard Stark was the second son of Lord Benjen Stark and Lady Lysa Locke, and younger brother of Rickon Stark. He married Margaret Karstark, with whom he had three sons: Benjen, Brandon and Elric.

His place in the history of the North comes from the years he spent ruling as regent for his underage nephew, Cregan Stark, a role he did not give up as readily as he had taken it.

While his nephew Lord Cregan Stark was still a minor, Bennard ruled the North in his name as regent.

Cregan came of age, turning sixteen, in 124 AC, but Bennard did not hand over power right away. The delay soured the relationship between the two, growing tenser as time went on.

Cregan's rebellion

In 126 AC Cregan rebelled against his uncle. Bennard was imprisoned along with his three sons, Benjen, Brandon and Elric, and Cregan took the rule of the North into his own hands.
