Beron Stark
Beron Stark was Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North during the reign of Aerys I Targaryen, a time when the Iron Throne was governed from the shadows by the Hand of the King, Brynden Rivers.
He led the North into war against the ironborn of Pyke, allied with Casterly Rock.

The second son of Winterfell

Beron was born around the year 180, the second son of Brandon Stark and Alys Karstark. He had two siblings, Rodwell and Arsa.
Chapter 2
The lord who married a Royce

Beron succeeded his brother Rodwell as Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North. He married Lorra Royce, and together they had seven children: Donnor, Willam, Artos, Berena, Alysanne, Errold, and Rodrik.
Chapter 3
The war against Pyke and the wound that never healed

During his rule Beron allied with Casterly Rock against Dagon Greyjoy, Lord of Pyke, in the years when Brynden Rivers served as Hand of the King. He raised men to drive the ironborn back into the sea, while the Lannisters built ships to strike at them on their own islands.
Beron was wounded fighting the ironborn at around thirty years of age, and the wound killed him slowly over time. His son Donnor succeeded him, and he was laid to rest in the crypts of Winterfell.
