Marla Prester was a noblewoman born into House Prester who became the second wife of Jason Lannister.
The marriage, arranged hastily by his family, made her the mother of six children, among them Joanna and Stafford.

Barely two weeks after Jason Lannister's first wife died, his family arranged his marriage to Marla, fearing the widower would father children out of wedlock. She was twice his age.
Six children came of the marriage, among them Joanna and Stafford. With the wedding, Marla left House Prester behind and joined House Lannister, to which she belonged for the rest of her life.
