Willem Lannister
Willem Lannister was a squire, son of Ser Kevan Lannister and Dorna Swyft, and twin brother of Martyn Lannister.
He rode with the army his cousin Jaime led into the Riverlands, an episode that turned him into a hostage of the War of the Five Kings.
Chapter 1
A squire of Casterly Rock
Willem was born in 287, son of Ser Kevan Lannister and Dorna Swyft. He had a twin brother, Martyn, with whom he shared a childhood and, later, a captivity.
Lord Gawen Westerling, a vassal of his uncle Tywin, at one point proposed marrying his daughter Jeyne to either Willem or Martyn. Kevan turned down the offer, doubting the girl's lineage on her mother's side.
Chapter 2
Taken at the Whispering Wood
Willem rode with the army Jaime Lannister led into the Riverlands. At the Battle of the Whispering Wood he was taken prisoner together with his cousin Tion Frey, both captured by Robb Stark.
With Robb proclaimed King in the North, he and Tyrion Lannister, then Hand in his father's stead, sought a prisoner exchange. Robb offered Willem and Tion in return for Sansa Stark; Tyrion turned the trade down, though he floated Harrion Karstark and Ser Wylis Manderly in exchange for Willem alone. No deal was struck, and the three boys remained captive at Riverrun, where Ser Kevan even considered marrying one of his twins, or Tion, to Sansa Stark.

The slaughter at Riverrun

Lord Rickard Karstark's younger sons had died at Jaime Lannister's hands during the Whispering Wood, and Karstark wanted revenge on him. When Catelyn Tully freed Jaime from his captivity at Riverrun without Robb's knowledge, Karstark found his revenge taken from him and turned it on Willem and Tion Frey instead.
With a few of his men, he went to where the boys were held and killed them in their sleep, along with two Tully guardsmen. Catelyn later found the bodies: one fair-haired, with hair grown long and a beard just starting in; the other dark-haired, marked from having fought for his life.
Robb, furious, had Rickard Karstark and his accomplices executed at Riverrun itself. Willem died in 299, not yet twelve years old.
