House Ferren

Casa Ferren

House Ferren is a noble house of the Westerlands, sworn to the Lannisters of Casterly Rock. Neither its founding nor the location of its seat is known, and little survives of it beyond a coat of arms and a single mention in the chronicles.

That coat of arms, according to semi-canonical sources, shows two ferrets in silver and black upon a green field, per saltire with a checkered gold and red pattern.

When Lord Tywin Lannister breaks camp at Harrenhal and sets his army on the march, Arya Stark, a prisoner among the ranks, watches the banners of the houses sworn to the Lannisters go by. Among them she makes out the Ferren sigil.

Nothing more is told of House Ferren: not its seat, not its people, not its fate. It is one of many banners marching behind Casterly Rock through the Westerlands, and the chronicles linger on it no longer than that moment.
