Tybolt Lannister
Tybolt Lannister was Lord of Casterly Rock, Shield of Lannisport, and Warden of the West during the reign of Aerys I Targaryen, heading House Lannister after his father's death. Before inheriting the title he had already made a name for himself with lance and shield at the Ashford Tourney.
His rule was marked by conflict with Dagon Greyjoy, which pushed the Westerlands to build a fleet of their own against the Iron Islands and to seek allies in the north.

In 211, Lord Dagon Greyjoy struck at the Westerlands and plundered much of the wealth of Fair Isle. Tybolt answered by ordering a fleet of his own built, meant to strike the ironborn at sea and carry the fight to the Iron Islands.
When King Aerys I Targaryen sent no help from the Iron Throne, Tybolt turned to Lord Beron Stark of Winterfell, and together they carried on the war against Dagon.
Chapter 4
A death too young
212 ACBooks only
In 212, though still a young and healthy man, Tybolt died under circumstances that were never explained. Casterly Rock passed to his three-year-old daughter Cerelle, with Gerold ruling as regent.
Cerelle died before a year had passed in the role, and Gerold inherited Casterly Rock after her. The two deaths coming one after another left many suspicious of him.
