As Lord of Casterly Rock and Shield of Lannisport, his name reached the court when Queen Alysanne considered him a possible husband for her daughter, Princess Daella, ranking him among the wealthiest men available for the match.
Daella herself wanted nothing to do with his temperament, and the match went no further than that idea.

Lord Tymond arrived at that year's Great Council with three hundred men, between vassals, soldiers and household, a following surpassed only by Lord Matthos Tyrell's five hundred.
