Casa Lydden de Cuevahonda
House Lydden of Deep Den is a noble house of the Westerlands, sworn to House Lannister of Casterly Rock. Its arms show a silver badger on a field per pale green and tenné.
Its origins go back to the Andal Invasion of the Westerlands, when the Kings of the Rock chose to marry into the newcomers rather than keep fighting them.

From Lydden to Lannister

House Lydden was born during the Andal Invasion, when the Kings of the Rock chose to win over the invaders instead of continuing to fight them, marrying their daughters to Andal knights. Under that policy, King Gerold III Lannister gave his only daughter to Ser Joffrey Lydden.
Gerold III died without male heirs, and it was then that Ser Joffrey Lydden took the Lannister name and was proclaimed King of the Rock.
